West Henaford is situated in an AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty) and is in walking distance of the famous North Devon Coastal path; there are car parks at various points along the route if you prefer all your walking to be  done on the coastal path rather than getting to it.

The local Church of St Nectan's in Welcombe is a sister church of St Nectan's at Stoke. Both have close links with Hartland Abbey which is only 10/15 minutes drive away, passing historic Docton Mill and Gardens on the way.
